Organisational Impact Framework: Act for Kids

Status: Current - Expected to be completed by the end of 2021

Client: Act for Kids

Background

Act for Kids is an Australian charity providing free therapy and support services to children and families who have experienced, or are at risk of child abuse and neglect. Act for Kids has helped thousands of children and families for over 30 years, through services such as integrated therapy, support for vulnerable families, special workshops to empower kids and safe houses in remote Aboriginal communities.

In early 2021, Act for Kids undertook a project to redefine its organisational purpose based on the contributions and perspectives of key internal and external stakeholders. A recommendation arising from the project was for Act for Kids to ‘develop an organisational impact measurement and reporting framework that cascades from Act for Kids’ Annual Report down to individual service-level planning, design and evaluation’.

Approach

Once developed, the Act For Kids organisational impact measurement and reporting framework will align with their recently refreshed purpose statement. The framework will be modelled on a review of leading examples of frameworks with similar intent in use by comparable organisations.

We'll support the development of an organisational impact measurement and reporting framework for Act For Kids through:

  • Working closely with a small steering group of relevant internal staff

  • Desktop research and targeted consultation to inform the definition and development of the framework

  • Drafting and presenting the proposed framework for feedback and endorsement

  • Supporting the implementation of the framework across the organisation through communication and resources.
