Status: Current - Expected to be completed by the end of 2021

Client: Wesley Mission Queensland

Background

Wesley Mission Queensland has engaged Beacon Strategies to undertake a short, targeted evaluation of The Boss Boxing program to help document the program model and demonstrate its outcomes.

The Boss Boxing (TBB) is an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander boxing gym based in Zillmere.

TBB aims to be a culturally safe and inclusive space that fosters healthy/positive relationships and mentoring via sport and recreational activities. The Boss Boxing is a program of Pass On The Fire Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Corporation.

Approach

To assist in capturing the program model, Wesley Mission Queensland has engaged Beacon Strategies to support a targeted evaluation planning process to capture feedback and demonstrate the impacts  of the program, in order to build and sustain the program

This evaluation plan aims to:

  • outline the design of the program and its intended outcomes

  • define key evaluation questions across five key domains to determine the areas and scope of inquiry

  • describe steps to collecting the data

  • create evaluation reporting products, including; findings, implications, and recommendations

  • create products that assist in the ongoing promotion of this program

TBB will undertake evaluation activities guided by this evaluation plan, with support and guidance on data collection provided by Wesley Mission Queensland and Beacon Strategies.
