This year has taught our organisation many lessons, including how to successfully adapt to new environments, how to engage genuinely via Zoom (....) and how lucky we are to work with a range of amazing organisations who are driven by their social purpose and mission. So, as promised, we would like to acknowledge the wonderful projects, committed organisations and dedicated individuals we have had the opportunity to work with this year.

Over here at Beacon Strategies we have been been through lots of internal changes during the pandemic that we haven't had a chance to keep you updated. Not only that, we have been extremely busy on the project front and are always thinking of ways we can deliver more value to our partner organisations.

Like many organisations, the uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation and the pace at which it unfolded left many of us scrambling to explore how to go remote and digital quickly, and to try and re-calibrate our business models for survival and sustainability.

From this week, the Beacon Strategies team will be implementing social distancing measures to ensure the health and safety of our staff and their families, and to help contribute to slowing the transmission of COVID-19. Our team will employ remote working arrangements and work closely with our client partners to ensure we continue to deliver on our current projects and to explore and take on new work.

Just over six months ago, Beacon Strategies started on a journey of re-discovering how our organisation works. This post shares what we’ve learnt from the changes we’ve made to our operating system—teams rule, limiting work in progress, working in sprints, retros and working in public—which have had a big impact on how we deliver high quality consulting services to our client partners.

In our final blog of the year, we recap on 'the year that was' by showcasing the broad variety of projects we have delivered in 2019 as well as re-sharing all blogs released on our website throughout the year (ideal for reading over the holidays).

After months of joyous business planning, plotting and brain straining, we are both pretty stoked to launch the official Beacon Strategies website. And so begins our journey of applying ourselves to pieces of work that we truly believe need to be done.
